HV EX series vacuum pumps are approved and certified according to EU Directive 2014/34:

• Internally for Atex zone 0, temperature class T3 (200°C).

• Externally for zone 1, temperature class T4 (135°C).

The vacuum blower is characterised by O-ring seals on the stator flanges, vacuum sealing and air cooling. Lubrication is by immersion. The compression chamber is protected by a combination of rectangular labyrinth seals and spray rings. The seal on the drive shaft is provided by the encapsulated motor, with this system there is no contact between the shaft and atmosphere.

The hermeticity of this type of Roots pump is guaranteed by the oil level control device placed in parallel with the visual indicator on the mechanical seals.
The hermeticity makes it possible to avoid:

• gas leaks, with the formation of explosive gas mixtures.

• the intake of atmospheric oxygen with the formation of an explosive/reactive gas mixture.
